  Hey Smelly,

  Yeah, go to the silentlambs site and read All of it.

  As avishai reccomended, the experiences site is a great place to start.

  It will take you hours to go through the whole thing. It will update you on the lawsuits and what not.

  Go on now, you seem like an open minded little onion.

  If you went through even a fraction of what many of the people on this forum have gone through, you might be a tad bitter yeself.

  Oh and p.s. You mentioned that if you got married you would want to marry a nice little witness chicky.
  As you read the experiences section of silentlambs, imagine if any one of those things happened to your one true love when she was a young girl, or worse yet, to your own son or daughter.

  have any of y'all ever participated in the whole "i can't wait for the new the new order so i can meet and hang out with the bible all-stars" thing.

  my old man always wanted to meet the apostles who were fishermen 'cause he likes to fish.

  i used to picture myself when i was a little kid holding hands with job and moses skipping through the gumdrop forest and petting an alaskan brown bear completly unafraid of bodily harm whilst the 1800 lb bruin grazes peacefully in the pasture.

  Covert Field Service tactic

  here's an idea i thought of for those of us still associated with the jws and going in field service:.

  1. write the url to this site, quotes, silentlambs, etc.

  on post-it notes (little yellow sticky papers).. 2. put the post-it notes inside the folded portion of a tract, or first page of wt magazine.. 3. leave the tract or magazine at not-at-homes.. in the chance the householder peruses the litter-ature rather than trash it, they will see the note and possibly visit the referenced website.

  After 30 years my mother now has doubts!!

  i have just finished an incredibly long conversation with my mother which was tense in parts and hard going but i feel as though i have made a break-through; i was incredibly delicate in my approach given her 30 years inside the borg but again i think i have made some headway.. we covered the un scandal and i asked whether she had heard anything about the wts affiliation with the un as an ngo; she surprisingly had heard nothing about it; i read the guardian articles to her and she was silent....i half expected to hear her hang up the phone but she continued to stay on.

  she tried to justify it initially but slowly i allowed her to reach her own conclusions and she has agreed to let me send the information upto her; i.e the guardian newspaper articles and the ngo press release.. we covered the child abuse policies and lack off protection for children and covered the highly legalistic approach taken in the very little policy they have...which is mainly about self preservation.

  i asked her whether she knew that the society in the us are being sued by a number of different people for the organisations failure to protect children from abuse and i asked if i could get the proof without using 'apostate' sources, i.e primary sources such as court judgements etc, would she accept the information?

  question for all

  most of you are ex-dubs, so what if world events proved that the jw's were right.

  for instance, governments turning on religion, matthew 24th chapt events really increasing at an alarming rate, enough to make you think: " maybe they were right?

  " if that happened, and the wts left the "door on the ark", so to speak, open for a little while, would you go back to the wts?

  Hm, interesting thought.

  Considering that the "Noah's" of the arc would be harbouring an unknown number of pedophiles, I'll take my chances on the outside where I think my two little girls would be much safer.

  Eagerness To Shun Bound To Fade

  my own parents gave up shunning me after i was disfellowshipped.

  they kept it up for about 3 years and then just sort of gradually folded.

  here in wsm, most of the witnesses who remember me can't be arsed with the shunning thang any more.

  You never know. At least you're trying. You won't know if you don't.

  The more that comes out about the society, the more people, the ones we might never have thought, just might come around and at the very least be a part of your life again.

  While nothing replaces family, at least you found your way here.
